The LAC Trade Project is a critical resource for USAID/LAC/Washington and for many of the bilateral missions and regional missions involved in trade-related technical assistance over the last three years. The project is often called upon to respond to urgent needs arising from the trade negotiations, and to provide pivotal technical assistance in a variety of areas, including civil society outreach programming and implementation, implementation of the "rules of trade" provisions of free trade agreements (environment, customs, etc.), reduction of business constraints, and transition to free trade initiatives.
